I hate it when authors and artists can’t take criticism. Criticism is such a vital part of our daily work and not being able to learn from it is an absolute waste. I know there is a line between criticism and flaming; but if your first go-to response to criticism is “the audience is entitled”, then there’s something wrong with your perception. A critical review doesn’t mean they want your body and soul to command; it means they just didn’t like what you did with it. You are still in charge; the work is still yours; the review is just a little nudge on your shoulder telling you to maybe consider what you’re doing a little while longer.
